Overwhelmed - A Poem

 

 

OVERWHELMED

I am overwhelmed
Everything is too real,
There’s too much
For me to feel,

I’m on the edge
And I can’t step back,
This shaky ledge
Is starting to crack,

I feel so lost
Which way do I go?
The coin is tossed
But which side shows?

I cannot relate
I’m too far gone,
I can’t trust Fate
To send me home,

I need an escape
A way out of pain,
But there’s no avenue
No clear, open lane,

I am so overwhelmed
I can’t find my path,
I think I’ll just curl up
And drown in my bath!
